Previous Projects
ionFiles |
ionFiles is a simple download management tool for Joomla with over 50,000 downloads. ionFiles tracks downloads and lists files all in one place. There are no categories to browse through! Perfect for anyone in need of a download manager but doesn’t want the category listings. ionFiles previously served as the download manager for pclinuxos.com. As a developer for ionFiles, I worked with two other developers in expanding core functionality and providing community support. I am no longer involved in this project. |
ionManager |
ionManager is a PHP framework and content management system developed by me. It started as a learning experience to familiarize myself with architecture patterns (MVC/HMVC), design patterns, and methodologies employed by larger frameworks. |
Playground-GFX |
The vWar roster block, is an add-on that integrates vWar with PHP-Nuke. It displays a member’s profile image with an ajax tooltip displaying the members’ details.
While working with Playground-GFX I coded several themes for PHP-Nuke, a popular content management system (at the time). I worked directly with a designer who sent me Photoshop documents. I sliced the Photoshop documents, and converted them into themes for PHP-Nuke. Below are some examples.
|
TheThemes |
TheThemes was an online business that provided premium gaming themes for the PHP-Nuke content management system. I helped maintain the production site, as well as develop and support themes. |
Sigurd Project* |
The Sigurd Project was a community driven project to create software that prevented hackers from cheating in Delta Force: Black Hawk Down. I helped develop web based software that helped engage the community and track cheaters. (This software was developed under a non-disclosure agreement. No code, or details will be provided under any circumstances.) |
Plainedge Schools |
Ticket Logger is a ticket management system for a local school district. Over 24,000 tickets have been created and solved. The system was several years old when I started developing. I was contracted to implement active directory based user authentication. I ended up rewriting a significant portion of the code to fix the security vulnerabilities, and attempted to implement a MVC based design.
The purpose of the registration form was to streamline the new student registration process. Rather than having parents fill out a written form, and the secretary manually enter the data, the form was recreated online which enabled the the secretaries export the data as a csv file and import it into the main database.

IFS Technologies* |
I was contracted by IFS technologies to create a questioner which would help decide recommend data back-up plan. This contract also included a form that collected information from a user before allowing them to download a whitepaper. John’s work was very well done, his communication on the project was outstanding and he provided great technical support on implementation and use of the programming he had done. We are very pleased and would use him again when the need arises. ~Matt – VP of IT at IFS Technologies |
BHD Statistics Tracker |
BHD Statistics Tracker mined users game statistics from a remote website and stored the data in a local database. This project consisted of two parts. The first part allowed clans to keep track of all their users progress (which helped boost internal competition). The second part was to display a particular users statistics on an image so it could be used as a forum signature. |
